I disagree with reviews questioning whether this belongs in the horror genre. The setup is terrifying and dread-filled. One of the final scenes [SPOILER] when she's washing her hair, I literally felt my stomach sink like few horror movies achieve. The ending kill was awesome too (especially for slasher fans), but it happened so quickly and effortlessly that it was almost comical, especially after a long survival struggle leading up to it--this caused it to lose one skull.

I remember when this movie first came out. I thought it was a great thriller. An amazing cast: Sam Neil, an unknown Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane when he had hair.
