Nostalgia is the actual value proposition here
It’s barely a movie, but it embodies everything good about television and Halloween in the 80s. If you watch this it’ll become an annual tradition to have it on in the background while you carve your pumpkins.
A bit of a fun time, but definitely "have on in the background during a hangout" stuff. It does nail what it's going for very well, though, with making fun of classic old public-access TV. What story is there is really good - I just wish there was more of it! Kind of hard to pay attention to since it's so heavily filtered to look like low-quality VHS.
Gave bonus kudos for creativity for this movie. It's not flashy, there's no jump scares, It's literally a new channel throughout the movie, with commercials. It's different but in a good way if you like the 80s nostalgia of television.
