WNUF Halloween Special
Directed by Chris LaMartina
In 1987, a TV news team tried to contact spirits in a haunted house. But something went wrong. Three decades later, the recording of this spooky special has finally surfaced and viewers can now see what really went on that fateful night - complete with commercials! Think GRINDHOUSE meets PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and you’ll know what to expect from this hilarious parody of found footage horror. Anyone who watched ‘80s TV is sure to laugh at the scarily accurate fake ads for video rental stores (remember those?), psychic hotlines and Satanic panic books. Watch if you dare...

While effort has clearly gone in to making this film, particularly in its capturing the aesthetic of the era that its set in, along with the technical aspects of how a video recording of a television broadcast would appear, the flaws turn it into an unenjoyable experience. As other reviewers have noted, the at-first charming ads soon wear out their welcome with their appearances far outstripping the content between the ad breaks. That it takes the first half hour before the 'Halloween Special' actually begins and the pace continues to move glacially with the ads hurts it. Factor in a particularly nasty and triggering bit of off camera violence, and the score goes from 2 to 1. I would not recommend this to anyone, since its not terribe in a good way, just dull in a monotonous way.
Decent but way too many commercials.
I'm a big fan of found footage format movies, but this was WAY over the top with the commercial breaks. I'm convinced more of the movie's runtime was the commercials than the story. And the scream sound effect on the bumpers. . . I found myself constantly muting the movie.
Bad version of Ghostwatch
Underrated
