The Horror of Party Beach

The Horror of Party Beach

Directed by Del Tenney

Sea creatures created from radioactive sludge terrorize a beach community in this classic drive-in creature-feature from the atomic age. The teens at "Party Beach" love to dance, make out and fight. Little do they know toxic waste has created scores of CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON-style monsters who will soon be ruining their fun. Long before JAWS and PIRANHA 3D fed clueless teens to ferocious fishies, beloved B-movie director Del Tenney was doing it in kooky monster movies like PARTY BEACH. Prepare to laugh and scream at the same time.

Sea creatures created from radioactive sludge terrorize a beach community.

Cast: John Scott, Alice Lyon, Allan Laurel

Shame Shudder couldn't get the MST3K version of this movie, not that the film always needed Mike and the 'Bots to make this trainwreck of attempted genre-mashup hilarious.

A charmingly goofy B movie mashup of "The Creature From The Black Lagoon" and "Beach Blanket Bingo". Awkward dancing by 30 somethings playing teenagers gets interrupted by a pair of radioactive creatures/ men in angry atomic fishface rubber suits. Chocolate syrup covered mayhem ensues, between weird bouts of runtime padding expository dialogue over the most mundane of events, with little regard to the bare bones plot. Absurd, but enjoyably schlocky vintage drive in fare.
