The Hole
Directed by Joe Dante
When two brothers move to a new house in the countryside, they find a mysterious bottomless hole in the basement. Teaming up with their beautiful next door neighbour, Julie, the group carry out a series of experiments on the hole, but fail to discover that when it is properly opened, it unleashes your darkest fear. A throwback to the suburban terror that director Joe Dante mastered in the 1980s, THE HOLE is a good old fashioned horror that can be enjoyed by teens and adults alike. Contains strong language, violence and gore.
Teens discover a bottomless hole that unleashes your darkest fears in Joe Dante's 2009 horror.
Cast: Chris Massigolia, Hayley Bennett, Bruce Dern

yeah, derivative, but the visual flare of this one is on another league. Loved the final surreal part.
Saw it while ago and felt like watching it again. It was still enjoyable the second time around. Its kinda feels like goosebumps, but for teenagers. Decent film from Joe Dante
Fair play to it, it kept me watching. A good one to pass time.
Well, it is for the younger generation of the horror genre. I watched it when at work being bored and it helped me a lot. It is not scary really, but entertaining.
Entertaining, nicely paced...and Hayley Bennet! - what's not to enjoy?
