Requiem for a Vampire
Directed by Jean Rollin
Two women find themselves trapped in a haunted castle ruled by sex-crazed vampires after fleeing unknown pursuers trying to kill them. Will they stay and join the randy ranks of the undead? Or make a break for it? This being a Jean Rollin film, you can bet there'll be lots of nude romping and sensual softcore sex in between the neck-biting and blood spilling. Beautiful Rollin mainstay Marie-Pierre Castel stars in the lead role. Several of her nude scenes had to be shot twice with more clothing to make it past the censors.

I don't know about "Corpseheads" passion for this film, but I'm sure most of us "dolts" reviewing it have enough taste to know a clinker when we see one. Yes, the chateaus are nice and the "iron work" has its merits also, but be it French horror, Polish, Swahili, or Manhattan, this movie is just plain crap. The old man playing the Count reminds me of Count Chocula with those teeth , and the rest of his vampires look like he stole them from a carnival maintenance crew. Corpseheads, you obviously have the devine ability to see deeper into these things than the rest of us, so I hope Jean Rollin personally comes and gets you for his next picture, be it in France, or in Hell. Oh, and by the way, get a grip man, it's just a movie.. *snicker*
Everyone showed up to make a horror movie but it turned into a porno somehow. Seems like uniquely French problem. lol
This particular version was okay but Shudder do you not understand this was a French horror film., it was intended for a French market, the overdubs are deplorable as usual and the dolts reviewing this film have absolutely no clue. Jean Rollin is not for everyone. French horror is not for everyone but one of the first dubs in this film featured a man's voice over Castel's. Jean Rollin films follow a different path and the rhythm of a French horror film like a Rollin is much different than say a Hollywood film which would hire a dork to recreate the beautiful chateaus and iron work. Much of the cinematography is stunning with the effective mood lighting the likes of Bava exploited in his films which again are better enjoyed in their native language. There is no effort to sound or act like the actors or actresses.
Boring and has some of the worst fake vampire teeth I have seen in any movie ever. Still I have to give it a two for euro sleeze boobs and soft-core action.
A fun little romp. Castel is great in this and thoroughly captivating, plus boobs.
