Night Train to Terror
Directed by Jay Schlossberg-Cohen
On a train bound for Hell, God and Satan decide the fates of three unfortunate mortals. So goes the setup for this infamous ‘80s horror anthology, whose stories are pieced together from the butchered remains of three other movies, like some kind of hilariously WTF Frankenstein’s monster. “Harry” involves a killer, organ harvesting and an asylum. “Greta” follows a death-obsessed woman who takes part in an unspeakable ritual of Russian roulette. In “Claire”, a young woman and a Holocaust survivor are terrorized by the son of Satan! Are you ready to board the NIGHT TRAIN?

Who'd have thought Bull from Night Court could do such horrible things? I normally enjoy anthologies, even though they always have some bad stories. This reminds me of a REALLY bad The Monster Club. At least the musicians in that had a wider repertoire. How dare the ones in this film assume I have nothing to do! The last segment made even less sense than the other 2. Terrible acting, ridiculous story lines, atrocious SFX. That conductor needs to work on his narration. Some of the one-liners were somewhat groan-inducingly humourous. 2 stars for seeing Charles Richard Moll with hair.
Not at all what I was expecting. The framing device is kind of interesting, but the rest of the movie doesn't offer any interesting ideas.
Please shudder do better then this
When watching anthologies, some segments will always be better than the rest. For Night Train to Terror, though, all the segments are bad. It's just a matter of finding one you at least think is "good-bad". The framing device is actually pretty interesting, and the goofy claymation special effects will get a chuckle or two, but unfortunately, the stories themselves aren't terribly interesting.
It's a "so bad it's good" movie, watch it to make fun of it like MST3K
