Night of the Living Dead
Directed by Tom Savini
In 1990, George Romero persuaded his friend and frequent collaborator, FX legend Tom Savini, to step into the director’s chair for this gory remake of 1968’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Romero wrote the script, keeping the original’s plot of a group of people trapped during a zombie outbreak, but updating other details. Patricia Tallman’s (“Babylon 5”) badass Barbara is nothing like Judith O’Dea’s hysterical original, while future CANDYMAN Tony Todd is brilliant as the heroic but frustrated Ben. But it’s Savini’s superb gore work that makes this one a must-watch.
FX legend Tom Savini directed this gory remake of the mother of all zombie flicks.
Cast: Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, William Butler, Tom Towles

not bad at all.
impressive remake!
While nothing can live up to the B&W original, I love this for the nostalgic association of staying up and watching this (and many other) horror flicks on cable. Up All Night on USA back in the early 90s.? Maybe? I miss late night cable.
