Hide and Go Shriek

Hide and Go Shriek

Directed by John Hough

A group of teens sneak into a furniture store where a twisted killer is hiding out. Once the maniac starts stalking the schoolkids, their game of hide and seek takes on life-or-death proportions. Though it’s one of the many ‘80s horror films which featured a transphobic depiction of a transgender villain (see also: SLEEPAWAY CAMP, DRESSED TO KILL), HAGS has a gritty 80s slasher sensibility that makes it a frightening and fun watch nonetheless. The film was the sole feature credit for Skip Schoolnik, who later worked on scary shows like “Salem” and “The Walking Dead”.

The film's ethos may not be inclusive, but that teddy sure will fit anyone.

One would think with an actress named Bunky in it that it would be a good film. Sadly this wasnt so. Bad, overacting and bad dialogue made this film drag on. The best part was the 80's clothes and bad hair.

This is a fun flick. Definitely different for it's time but still fun. There are a couple of slow parts but also some good creepy moments. I remember renting this from the video store as a kid and remember it being more suspenseful but horror movies have advanced so much since this was made that it makes it seem more tame. Definitely worth a watch though.
