Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace
An evil toymaker plans to sell millions of masks that will kill all children who wear them on Halloween. In 1982, John Carpenter planned for the HALLOWEEN series to conintue as an annual anthology of standalone films. Though it didn't pan out, audiences did get a singular, horrifying vision from Carpenter and director Tommy Lee Wallace in HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH. A failure upon release, thanks to a lack of Michael Myers, HALLOWEEN III has been deserevedly reconsidered as the exceptional, sinister folk horror it is. Starring Tom Atkins, rediscover Conal Cochran and Silver Shamrock. Contains strong language, violence and gore.

Out of all the Halloween movies, I remember this one the most. The creepy kid's commercial song has all the right kind of wicked. And Tom Atkins is a total lady's man.
Honestly, its a great 80's horror film, especially if you like the evil toymaker/ evil toy trope. Feels like old school Goosebumps, but for adults.
The only thing this has in common with the first two is that it's on Halloween. After seeing all of the high reviews I watched it for the first time in years, it still sucks.
So strange that it's a part of the Halloween franchise, but I still love it. In fact, it's probably my favorite, tied with the original.
3.5/5 - Honestly better than I was expecting. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a totally competent and decently engrossing B-movie. Take it as a standalone film. Recommended
