Flowers in the Attic
Directed by Jeffrey Bloom
In this scandalous gothic chiller, four children move in with their evil grandmother, who locks them in the attic and subjects them to a series of terrible torments. Louise Fletcher, famous for her Oscar-winning portrayal of the sadistic Nurse Ratched in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, plays the wicked granny, while original BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER star Kristy Swanson plays granddaughter Cathy. Based on the first of trash novelist V.C. Andrews' wildly popular Dollanganger series, this 1987 adaptation chilled audiences to the bone upon its premiere.

This was such a sad movie, good twists
What a weird flick.
Not as creepy or gruesome as the book, but it still manages to retain some of the atmosphere as well as the way I imagined Foxworth Hall to be. The grandmother was good, and the mother not too bad at least in my opinion. There are multiple changes from the book, but I think I prefer a lot of the differences.
Wow just wow. I have so many questions still
I've seen multiple versions of this story adapted to film and I actually prefer this one. The ending is more cathartic and I appreciate the lack of incest. Great movie to hate your mom to.
