Cropsey
Directed by Barbara Brancaccio
This disturbing doc explores the truth behind the legend of a real-life boogeyman. Growing up on Staten Island, Joshua Zeman and Barbara Brancaccio had often heard the scary stories of 'Cropsey', a mental patient who killed children. But when a girl went missing, Cropsey became real. While tracing the legend, Zeman and Brancaccio uncover a long-buried scandal surrounding the horrific Willowbrook Mental Institution - the inspiration for the twisted asylum in season two of AMERICAN HORROR STORY - proving that sometimes, truth can be much scarier than fiction.

didn't find it boring at all ..
Very interesting and very sad.
Very informative and entertaining. A necessity for any new horror fan.. I have been a horror fan since I was a baby- my grandma used to put me to sleep to the Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre! Haha.. Anyway- this documentary had information I didn't know!! Very well done!
Interesting subject matter for a documentary, but executed in an underwhelming way.
No real direction. Just facts from news stories regurgitated over and over. The writing was good but overall a pretty boring documentary.
