Beyond the Darkness

Directed by Joe D'Amato

On a luxurious estate in the Italian countryside, Francesco mourns his deceased lover. Soon pain and loss turn to madness and violence, as this troubled young man decides he cannot part with his love just yet. Excavating her corpse, he preserves her body with excruciating attention to detail. That, however, is only the beginning. CinzIa Monreale (THE BEYOND) and Franca Stoppi (THE OTHER HELL) star in Joe D'amato's psycho-sexual thriller featuring torture, cannibalism, necrophilia, unrequited love and other perversions set to a pounding score by Goblin.

Grief-struck after the death of his wife, a young man attempts to keep her with him forever - by turning her into a doll.

Cast: Kieran Canter, Cinzia Monreale, Franca Stoppi

strange film, parts were good really interesting( and fucked up) dynamic between the lead and the maid. not a bad film good moments of gore , but seriously i fucking hate how shudder ends the films without showing the credits . the credits help the viewer digest what they just saw. having that immediate rush to . pause. replay. skip. screen really takes you out of the film

It's hard to call Beyond the Darkness a good film, but you have to appreciate Joe D'Amato's dedication in attempting to show as many perversions as possible in one film. The Goblin score elevates it and there are some really fun gross out scenes amidst the parade of plot holes and over the top fun.

The gore itself wasn't disturbing, but seeing a grown man suckle a breast like a baby was shiver worthy
