I watched the two episodes on slashers and I probably will not return to the series. I felt underwhelmed by the presentation, which relies on interview clips that offer standard-issue horror film opinions but not much insight or originality. I didn't come away from the two episodes feeling that I had improved knowledge of slasher films. I understand that the series wants to focus on American films (because no one ever talks about American horror films....?), but the way it immediately glosses over an important film like Bob Clark's Black Christmas (a Canadian film) is rather off-putting... especially when it later spends way more time than necessary extolling the apparent merits (I sure missed them) of the abysmal Hostel, Roth's own film. Can we say shameless? In general, the series is shallow and only scratches the surface of the topics it addresses, though in theory I appreciate hearing from people like Stephen King and Jamie Lee Curtis.

So I am not a huge Eli Roth fan as far as his direction is concerned but I do enjoy him in documentaries and as an “actor “ from time
