I loved the books and I'm not a vampire books fan. The books were so well written I was afraid that the show wouldn't even be close. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's sticking to the books very well. It leaves some things out, but you can't have all the minute details or it would take forever. Looking forward to the rest. Good acting and scenery is perfect.
Matthew Goode is an Excellent Matthew De Clermont. I'm looking forward to see him develop the character. But holy awful casting for Diana Bishop! Whiny and petulant. She looks vague and slightly constipated when trying to look smart and strong. Any wit or sass from the original books is lost. I'm hoping this gets better, this fan is disappointed. Where are the Daemons? Isn't Marcus supposed to be an American? Could there be any less chemistry between Matthew and Diana? Why is Gillian so weak? I'm starting to regret my enthusiasm for this series. Hoping it loses the Twilight esc melodrama quick!!
