An extraordinary film consisting of folklore, dramatic compositions and scenery of the Arctic wilderness.

you know what. if you go into this with the understanding that it was made in early 1950s and just take that into consideration i reckon it did a rather bang up job for an international subbed. and if you sit back and think what todays cgi could do to this movie it’s a bang up film. i’d definitely watch the remake. i managed to sit through it anyway. the thought that’s gone into the story is clear and there’s nothing out there like it at the moment nor has their been for a long time. but my skulls have to not be misleading as many reviews are. so on this actual flick it’s a slow 75 mins. all the way through i’m just thinking about how it’d be if filmed recently. the transformation scenes are comical as are the murder ones. but again take into consideration it’s age and country. all being said i’m still giving it 3 skulls because i think it earned them

What a fascinating, odd little acquisition for Shudder. Really fascinating and atmospheric. Not quite a Christmas movie, but has lots of bleak desolate wintery goodness, and very striking landscape cinematography. Recommended if you like classics
