Meh
Classic Universal studio picture. An archetype for future spook house flix. A good cast is worth repeating.
Thank you for bringing films like this here to Shudder. As a former cast member it was wonderful to see how this film influenced the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I love the quirky characters in this and the style choices for the production design and costumes are very entertaining. Here...have a potato
Very good!!
I really enjoyed, and was excited to find out it's a pre-code film. I had feeling it must have been pre-code the way they talked about mocking religion, and way Margaret changed into such a revealing dress for the 30s. I absolutely love pre-code films so much! one my favs is called Baby Face with Barbara Stanwyck. The beginning car scene in the storm reminded me of Rocky Horror Picture Show, so it was nice to find out Rocky Horror was referencing this film.
