The Descent
Directed by Neil Marshall
One year after a tragic accident, six girlfriends meet in a remote part of the Appalachians for their annual caving trip. When a rock falls and blocks their route back to the surface, the group splinters and each one pushes on, praying for another exit. But there is something else lurking under the earth - a race of monstrous humanoid creatures that have adapted perfectly to life in the dark. As the friends realize they are now prey, they are forced to unleash their most primal instincts in an all-out war against an unspeakable horror. Neil Marshall's relentless, claustrophobic creature feature proves one of the truly scary films of the 21st century and is rightly regarded as essential.
Six girlfriends are trapped in a cave with monstrous humanoid creatures in this modern horror essential.
Cast: Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Mendoza, Alex Reid, Saskia Mulder

fucking fantastic :)
An absolute gem of a movie. Definitely scary. Lots of hot ladies, lots of action and gore with a tasteful amount of drama. Handled the limitations of its set pieces and action scenes with choice lighting and atmosphere. Great direction with a clear goal. One criticism would be the disorienting fight scenes...
It’s a really slow built up. I didn’t finish it because the acting was just god awful as well as the character development. Meh.
I tried to watch this but the dangerous lack of preparation and willful disregard for proper equipment and clothing was far too distracting. They went into a cave they hadn’t planned on going into, they weren’t dressed in a way that would be conducive to avoiding hypothermia or keeping skin on their body as they squeezed through the cave. Just hella ricockulous.
Good movie, definitely worth the watch!
