The Cured

The Cured

Directed by David Freyne

Years after Europe was ravaged by the Maze virus, transforming people into cannibalistic monsters, a cure is finally found. Senan Browne (Sam Keeley) is haunted by what he did while infected. As he returns to the home of his brother’s widow, Abbie (Ellen Page), fear and suspicion threaten to plunge the world back into chaos

A disease that turns people into zombies has been cured. The once-infected zombies are discriminated against by society and their own families, which causes social issues to arise. This leads to militant government interference.

Cast: Eliot Page, Sam Keeley, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor

Slow burn, interesting take on zombies & zombie stereotypes but I wanted more in your face gore and a deeper dive into the trauma faced with being infected: more gut wrenching attacks on people they knew or anyone in general. Still had a rough scene of the attack to the father but we didn’t see it happen - would’ve liked to tbh. Anywho I still recommend it

This movie puts a unique spin on the Zombie genre! I really enjoyed the story and great performances. Although The character portrayed by Ellen Page was so 1 dimensional, every scene she was in seemed cheesy and clumsy.

Slow to start , but really enjoyable and different. The ending wasn’t the best, but maybe left open for a sequel?
