The Corridor (2010) follows friends on a weekend excursion who take a path into the forest that leads to horrifying consequences. This movie had an interesting concept but the filmmakers just didn’t do anything with it and it ended up being a very disappointing film. The film starts with a confusing opening, and seems pretty messy so it doesn’t set anything up well. Throughout the film my attention was never captured and it dragged a lot for me, meaning I just really didn’t care. There was one moment that genuinely shocked me, and that was the scalping scene which was gruesome. However, even that scene came out of nowhere. The cinematography was pretty average, and there was no interesting colour palettes used. On the other hand, I liked the lighting in the last 20 minutes and the snowy setting was pretty and pleasing on the eye. Unfortunately, the visual effects had the opportunity to look cool but failed at this in my opinion. The effects got laughably bad, specifically how the energy field looked, it just wasn’t realistic and looked very cheap. Lastly, the characters weren’t set up well and the acting got quite bad as the movie progressed. Not all the acting was bad, but nothing captured my attention in a positive way. This is partly due to the dialogue being bland and poorly written. The way the characters interacted felt way too unnatural. Another thing I’d like to add is that the portrayal of mental illness was incredibly poor and almost harmful.

Had potential but unfinished. Made as much sense as a bad acid trip
