Fairly boring until the last five minutes.
creepy but not the best of these. too jumbled and confusing.
I'm glad Shudder has put all these old BBC Christmas Ghost Stores onto their service, but this one did nothing for me. Might have to give it another watch at some point, but first time viewing and my initial thoughts are it's a dud.
Be aware the same actor plays Sir Richard and Sir Matthew so it’s a little bit confusing. Great short, definitely odd and not a big box office crowd pleaser for the masses. Perfect Shudder content.
Absolutely first-rate adaptation of M. R. James classic story. Horrific and highly recommended. All these 1970s BBC 'Ghost Stories for Christmas' films are crying out for remastering, restoration, and 4K versions.
