Like many of the other reviews are saying, it's just ok. Unfortunately this movie falls into the trap of showing a bit too much too early, so although the story does introduce progressively more dramatic elements as it progresses, a lot of the potential for slow build tension is missed. Worth checking out if you like your horror to involve possession and/or witches, but its no classic.
The Accursed is a decent enough horror movie with some chilling moments, as long as you go in with mid level expectations. A reasonable cast and a decent plot make for a not entirely terrible viewing experience as suggested by many of the reviews. Whilst there are plenty of superior horror movies featuring demons and occult themes, The Accursed is creepy enough to keep you engaged during its not overly long runtime, passing the time without leaving you with lasting memories.
Not bad. Not good. It's in the twilight zone between.
Easy watch to have on in the background.
You've seen it all done before, and better.
