Suspiria is one of the great horror films of the 1970s, directed by Italian auteur Dario Argento, a master of the macabre. Similar to the giallo (an Italian genre that could be compared to the slasher film, although often has a sophistication that we don’t find in its US cousins ), the viewer is asked to actively put together the pieces of a puzzle to discover what terrible secret the school is hiding. A sensory treat, Suspiria is Argento at the finest. Just a note, the film was made in multiple languages and post-dubbed as was practice in Italy at the time. There is no original language version of this film.
1977 Suspiria is a true horror masterpiece. Goblin did an outstanding job on the score.
Look, I get that this might have been the Star Wars of horror movies, changing the way they have been made ever since. . . but damn its a stinker. I heard this is a classic, and it's brilliant and all that, but it was mostly annoying to me.
the 2018 remake is better but this ateee
Giallo perfection. Argento + Goblin 4 Life.
