I had seen this film years ago and decided to rewatch it when it appeared here. I'm not usually a fan of DePalma, as I think he makes too many choices just for the bravura image. That still holds true, although I do enjoy this film.
not a bad film although predictable. the blood fakery is hilarious and the wierd pink icing the names are written with reminds me of slime but worth a watch.
Interesting. One of De Palma's early works. He went on to direct Carrie, Scarface, and Blow Out amongst other films, usually thrillers. The stylisation he is renowned for, such as the split screen, are very much evident here, and can be contrasted with how tension developed in his later work.
Highly recommended
Very good for a 70s flick!
