Silent Hill

Directed by Christophe Gans

Unable to accept the diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care, Rose flees with her child to the deserted town of Silent Hill in search for answers. It's soon clear this place is unlike anywhere she's ever been. It's smothered in fog, inhabited by strange beings and periodically overcome by a living "Darkness" that literally transforms everything it touches. Rose begins to learn the history of the eerie town and realizes that her daughter is just a pawn in a larger, terrifying game.

Completely underrated for its atmosphere and performances, this story of a woman’s desperate journey through hell-on-earth also features memorable creature designs and kill scenes. It’s a shame that it’s held back by a lackluster script that could have benefited from a second pass.

One of my favorite horror movies! Sure it's not a scene by scene remake of the game but it is close enough that it is an enjoyable watch every time!

Meh. This movie seems to be well liked but i have no nostalgia & i never played the games. This was a tough watch. Movie was all gray tones & hard to look at. It felt like ALL the characters were one dimensional and underdeveloped. I was so bored that i know i missed plot details which made the movie confusing. . . I would have given one star, but the famous creatures from the games were well represented (the evil nuses, pyramid head). the were a couple of exciting moments and there were a few surprising gore effects.
