Night of the Living Dead
Directed by Tom Savini
In 1990, George Romero persuaded his friend and frequent collaborator, FX legend Tom Savini, to step into the director’s chair for this gory remake of 1968’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Romero wrote the script, keeping the original’s plot of a group of people trapped during a zombie outbreak, but updating other details. Patricia Tallman’s (“Babylon 5”) badass Barbara is nothing like Judith O’Dea’s hysterical original, while future CANDYMAN Tony Todd is brilliant as the heroic but frustrated Ben. But it’s Savini’s superb gore work that makes this one a must-watch.
FX legend Tom Savini directed this gory remake of the mother of all zombie flicks.

RIP Tony Todd
Bleh. Even Savini doesn't like it. Come on.
Could have been so much better without studio meddling. Hardly any gore.
Cheap awful degradation of a horror classic. The destruction and ruin of Barbara's persona eliminates the one individual in the room that was having a normal reaction to what is going on. It rips the heart and soul out of the story and turns it into just another action flick.
this movie has always been a favorite since childhood. RIP Tony Todd! 🫀
