Kaleb is about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over an inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend. Fascinated by exotic animals, he finds a venomous spider in a shop and brings it back to his apartment. It only takes a moment for the spider to escape and reproduce, turning the whole building into a dreadful web trap. The only option for Kaleb and his friends is to find a way out and survive.

Ohhh and the ‘can’t like it because of all the unlikeable character’ comments, yes, not everyone is acting in the way you’d like them to, people are not perfect, not in films, not anywhere. I’ve seen what makes you people cheer.
PART 2 COS SHUDDER CRASHED They do research into the spiders and find out they grow when they are threatened. So for the ‘they don’t explain why things happen crowd, go back, watch again, they do. But it isn’t actually about big spiders, is it. It’s about how fear of others, xenophobia, grows in ignorance and fear. It’s about how the people you think should be helping you aren’t, and when you ask them why they blame you for everything. Please I am begging, think critically.
Reading the comments here nearly gave an aneurysm. There is a reason that there is a concerted effort to eradicate creative subjects from education because media literacy is a dangerous thing. Horror is important because it can allow people a way of saying what they want to without making explicitly overt statements which become cliches and cringey, hackneyed storylines very quickly. This is a great film, it has a little pacing problem but most of the problems I am seeing brought up here are as much about people not really engaging their brains while they’re watching. I don’t usually do this sort of thing, I generally don’t care what people think but the sheer lack of critical thinking on here recently is infuriating. I loved the story! hated watching it because I'm an arachnophobe! The angles and the shots made me want to rip my hair out lol
