Halloween H20: 20 Years Later
Directed by Steve Miner
Twenty years later Laurie Strode is still struggling to put her past behind her. Living under the alias 'Keri Tate' in a small town with her 17-year-old son, John, she works as the head mistress of a private school. Her only confidant is Will Brennan, the school guidance counselor. Now, twenty years later, Michael Myers is suddenly back in her life with a vengeance and it's not just Laurie Strode he's after. The terror begins for a whole new generation, including Jimmy the next door neighbor, Ronny the aspiring novelist who works as the school security guard, John and his girlfriend Molly, and their friends Charlie and Sarah. When this small group of students ditch the school camping trip to have their own Halloween fun, they find that blood is thicker than water. Once again, Laurie Strode must endure another Halloween from Hell. But on the eve of its 20th anniversary, the legendary scream queen is back to put evil in its place...for good.

This was a cool concept and a really cool execution with some solid kills. The Janet Leigh cameo was great and the whole cast did a good job with it. While in now way can any of these franchise films match up to the original I think H20 gives fans exactly what they wanted - edge of the seat horror and an iconic boogeyman that will kill everyone in his path. One of the best films in the franchise.
I shouldn't like this movie, but I do. Great opening with the original actress playing the nurse from Carpenters classic. Jamie Lee Curtis plays it straight as the still worried Laurie Strode trying to protect her son & his friends from her brother The Shape. Remember. It's a studio cut of the film that wisely edited it down to an hour & twenty something minutes. All we wanted to see anyways was Michael Myers vs Laurie Strode. It delivers!!! Yea well fuck you to!
Love the story here and it's straightforward approach to getting into the point of the movie.
Unfortunately this was for me the beginning of the downfall of the Halloween sequels. It was the year of Josh Hartnett, he was in so many movies. Watch with your friend and everyone will say,” hey I remember him. ”
The last, best Halloween movie. Lived up to the hype and was a perfect finish to the original story.
