Good shlocky fun. Classic kaiju beats (man's superiority complex leads him to mess with non-human lifeforms much bigger and stronger with terrible consequences). Tinges of anti-colonialist critique (We refuse to call the creature anything other than *irish accent* Ogra). Scale of the monster is all over the place but the monster itself looks good!! Also features the least unwatchable child actor ever (who ends up being the wisest character).
Not a bad kaiju movie, despite being a copy of godzilla, with the story of king kong, which doesn't make it unique, but it's a good bad kaiju to watch.
Who can honestly say they were rooting for the humans?
Oh cherished cheesy monster movie, how I love thee! If you like the old Godzilla movies this is for you. I loved it. I’ll be watching it again.
I wish I had as good a time as everybody else! Monsters looked great and I liked the ending, but I’d be lying if I said it held my attention throughout.
