Directed by Xavier Gens

In the ultra-gory French shocker that put director Xavier Gens (THE DIVIDE) on the map, a gang of bank robbers wind up locked in a vicious battle for survival after hiding out at an inn that’s run by a psychotic neo-nazi family. Once the clan’s intentions become clear, the blindsided crooks must do all they can to fight back and escape, even if it means going to the police. With far right politicians winning elections in the US and Europe and neo-nazis making a resurgence, Gens’ controversial carnage tale seems less like fantasy and more like a scary possibility.

Pretty silly, gore was alright but didn't make up for the lack of a good plot. It's very cookie-cutter, and we were pretty bored throughout. Not a comedy but we did have a laugh at a few moments, so it wasn't a waste of time.

I put this in as a lunchtime watch, thinking it wouldn't be that great. When it got started though, it became incredible, and just got better and better. The acting was amazing, and it was very entertaining and gory. The French are unsung masters of horror; all French horrors I have watched so far have been great. This was basically their version of Texas Chainsaw... but with a family of Nazis, however I found this much better and more captivating. All the members of "the family" were very interesting - the character writing was great, and the final girl was epic. Very realistic reactions to intense trauma that you just don't get with crappy, cliche Hollywood. I highly recommend this. I really didn't expect to be shocked at how great this movie was!

Wow that was intense!! Great film. Of course, we've all seen the plot many times, but this one has brilliantly added twists to it, with a really good lead character. Really good and quite realistic scripting with great direction and acting. Highly recommend it. Definitely not for the squeamish. Hollywood would quiver with fear if they would ask to make this.
