I was really surprised by this. I wasn't expecting such a richly ambivalent take on religious power and the patriarchy. Some really interesting imagery from director Gianfranco Mingozzi and after recently watching this and Footprints on the Moon I am now a confirmed Florinda Bolkan fan. She gives such a powerful performance.
let my girl go she didn't do nothing wrong
I watched all the Torture scenes again and on reflection I am upping my rating to Four Skulls.
Some want to turn away from the screen scenes which was a pleasant surprise. A bit longwinded but I was invested in the story.
