80's slasher nostalgia can't really help this one. Dull, unimaginative kills mixed with dull, vapid dialogue makes for a dull movie. Made even more eye-rolling by the "twist" and killer reveal. Unless you're completist - skip it.

I had never heard of this film until Shudder surprised me with it... the premise is interesting - sports and horror - and with it being filmed in the 80s, well, you already know you are in for a treat. The film is a bit unpolished (for lack of a better word) in some scenes, but its still shoots and scores. The ending was a surprise and its delivery is a topic that remains painfully current in different ways today. 3.5 skulls.

Boring deaths with no gore and an incredibly transphobic reveal ruin what was otherwise a very entertaining slasher with likable characters. Movies like this, jokes like this, ideas like this about trans people are why it's so dangerous to live as a trans person. Fuck this movie.
