Elevator Game
Directed by Rebekah McKendry
Based on the online phenomenon of the same name, ELEVATOR GAME follows socially awkward teenager Ryan, who ingratiates himself into a group of recent high school graduates that run an online web series debunking urban legends. But Ryan has a secret: His sister disappeared months earlier, and he believes they – and a dangerous online challenge called ‘The Elevator Game’ – were responsible. To play the game, you must ride the elevator in a specific sequence, invoking a supernatural creature called ‘The 5th Floor Woman’. In an attempt to gain more information as to the whereabouts of his sister, Ryan persuades the group to play the game once more, and risk unleashing the most fearsome consequences imaginable.
A teen searches for his sister via a ritualistic game.

It was ok. It had really great jump scares and skin crawlingly creepy images. Unfortunately, the acting was God awful. I'm talking "got laughed out of an audition for a 30 second toothpaste ad" bad. Especially Kris and Chloe. I also feel that it fell into the classic horror movie trap of over explaining the scary thing. part of what makes the elevator game so scary is how little info the player has. Who is the woman who gets in on the 5th floor? What's her deal? We don't know. That's why she's so fucking scary. Giving her a backstory makes her something that can be explained, and therefore not as terrifying. I also feel that more of the movies should have taken place in the Red World. The Red World was really well done and creepy as fuck. Kudos to the creative team that made everything so creepy just by slapping a red filter onto it and editing a cdoss in the sky
