This is a wonderful TB to earlier classic horror movie style. The special effects, though vintage, are charming and add to the nostalgic charm. The plot is engaging, with suspense and excitement. A must-watch for fans of retro horror, IMO.

Typical kind of movie they made back then. Poor script, poor acting, and a lot of stupid to make the movie flow. I had visions of Beavis and Butthead doing a movie like this. The 3 stooges would have worked as well. With all of that, I am glad I watched it, as it brought back memories of movies I watched as a young child, with Angry Red Planet coming to mind. They had spiders in that movie too. It also had a lot of stupid, but I remember liking it.

I saw this on TV as a kid. As I saw every giant insect movie I could. This one used real tarantulas and astounding special effects that make you believe in giant spiders. Or not. Whatever. I love the spider webs that look just like the netting at ropes courses to catch you if you fall. This is one of those small towns with rather elderly high school students, easily in their 30's. Loved seeing Hank Patterson in the film as Hugo the janitor. Hank played Fred Ziffel on Green Acres. He is tragically killed by the giant spider. I hope someone broke the news to Arnold the pig. Also love how the theater owner talks about a socko picture coming "Attack of the Puppet People", another AIP Production. I love the wall sign advertising for the Gay Mattress Company. The credits say this was filmed at the Carlsbad Caverns, but IMDb says at Bronson Caverns. All I know is that these caves are explored without the aid of flashlights. Naturally bright caves.
