Started skipping thru but when I got to the last 15-20 minutes it made go back and watch it all. Trust me, stick with it. You’ll be rewarded.
I thought I recognized this, but I was thrown by the year, because was sure I hadn't seen it that recently. Turns out I was right. The film was released in 2012, not 2021. It's an eerie film with steadily building terror, and a great atmosphere, being set somewhat uniquely in a closed restaurant. I'm guessing a lot of viewers are disappointed by the twist, but it's overall a solid, creepy indie horror.
A little slow but not as bad as many others on Shudder. The pay off is at the end. A decent almost satisfying ending that makes up for the rest of the movie. Taking the ending into account, it is not a 1 skull movie at all, as compared to many other movies on Shudder.
Devoured (2012) was mostly boring. Yeah, it’s about a rough situation, but the whole thing was so predictable I could tell what was gonna happen way before it did. Nothing really shocked me, nothing grabbed me. Just kinda dragged on and left me waiting for it to be over.
True a very slow burn but solid production value. More drama and Agatha Christie than horror.
