Knock Knock with Keanu Reeves is definitely a remake of this film, and arguably better. However, if you've seen the remake I still think this one of worth seeing for comparison. It was very interesting seeing the same story told before and after the boom of internet technology.
This is a good film for what it is, which is something far better than what it should be. All three leads are excellent, Camp and Locke are deranged and charismatic, but not without pathos. And Cassel’s desperation is palpable, balancing the moral and mortal consequences of a series of increasingly poor decisions. Most of the sex is shrouded and obscured. One could give the director credit for teasing the audience the same way the women tease George, but maybe that’s too generous. Either way, its brutal cabaret quality and claustrophobic menace make it worth a watch.
Whoa wait….is Knock Knock with Keanu a remake of this movie?!
candidate for best freeze-frame credit scene.
I couldn't get invested in any part of the movie I ended up reading menus.
