Twist on twist on twist. No one could have done this except ARgento. The gore, Grand Guignol and trademark overdone score emigrated well from Europe, but in the US, it was less giallo than maybe giallo-noir. Or whatever color. The kid who played Gabriel was completely non-emotive, which maybe worked well with the finale.
A good movie for a good time.
Great psychological thriller and one hell of a twist ending!🩸🩸🩸
I didn't think I would like this one so much. Great cast. Too bad they underutilized Piper Laurie.
As later in The Stendhal Syndrome, Asia Argento in Trauma plays a good tragic character. Only seeing her in these two films, I don't know how she is in other roles, but her roles in these two make her interesting as a person, as well. These Argento films, though B-movie-ish, with fairly standard plot structures, are still intriguing mysteries that didn't lead me to want to do paperwork at the same time. Asia's psycho-social dimensionality enriches both films, and in Trauma, so does the young man who loves her. Also, Argento approaches social problems directly in both plots in an obvious, caring, and non-intrusive way.
