I saw some mixed reviews here but a 92% on RT, so I wasn’t quite sure which to expect. And holy whoa do I think it deserves that 92. It’s a heart-wrenching, suspenseful tale of twisted revenge and regret, mixed with unfortunate fate. The acting is stellar and I was completely captured by the characters. Once the movie gets started, which is very early on, it goes from 0 to 60 and only speeds up from there. The closest thing I have to a gripe is that I’d personally classify this as a thriller more than a horror movie, but in its own right as a film, I have to give it a 5/5.

A very solid Kiwi horror flick with each character true to who you might meet walking the streets of any of the New Zealand cities. As is expected from serious Kiwi horror it's intense, isn't taking prisoners, and has themes galore - think about the title for example. This is a horror flick aimed at adults, horror tourists need not apply. Reminded me of movies like Bad Blood and Man Alone. Can't wait to see what James Ashcroft does next.

Kind of boring. If you want to watch a family get terrorized watch "funny games. "
