this was not good enough to be a b movie more like c,hahahahaha dont waste your time unless you just want background noise while doing something else, like sleeping zzzzzzzz
I don't know what people are complaining about. This is pure, campy, 80s horror goodness. If you're looking to be scared, this movie isn't for you. If you're looking for a good time; look no further. Terrible acting? Check. Ridiculous special effects? Check. Giant, gaping plot holes? Absolutely. I 100% recommend watching this and letting your inner "mystery science theater 3000" monologue do its thing.
Incoherent in a bad way. Every performance is unwatchable, and the mother’s performance particularly made me loathe watching this nonsense.
I think this film was trying way too much and barely landed anything it was trying to achieve. This would be a lot more favorable if it was just a simple slasher flick with an undead samurai killing with themed weapons and methods. Instead, we got a weird in the wrong way, unnecessarily convoluted, badly written, directed with lackluster effort, and unholy piece that tried to burn like a grand fireplace and ended up as a rusted barrel smolder. The only feeblest compliments I can give is some of the characters are likeable and some of the special effects are kind of cool. They, however, are some of the small embers in the ash pit of dropped off plot points, underwhelming payoff, nonsensical moments, irritatingly slow pace, and an embracing amount of cliche.
It's bad, but still enjoyable. There is a bit too much build up for the little payoff you get in the last half.
