A Cat in the Brain
Directed by Lucio Fulci
A horror director becomes unable to distinguish between his films and reality in Italian horror master Lucio Fulci's 1990 meta-masterpiece. Violent visions lead Fulci (playing himself) to seek help from a psychotic therapist who studies his films and starts slaying his friends! Made only six years prior to the gore god's death, this Fellini-esque fright flick serves as a scary swan song to Fulci's long and celebrated career, with the director gleefully skewering his controversial work and persona, nine years before Wes Craven did the same in NEW NIGHTMARE.

weird but interesting
underrated Fulci classic
I love this movie, and got a subscription (right now) specifically because it's "on this site" but it's actually not anymore? what gives? I'm really saddened by this. It was the only viable way to have an italian horror movie night with friends, but nope. sad.
Count the number of times that Fulci walks into a room and has a vision. This movie is basically a highlight reel of gory scenes from the director's past with barely a plot. Fulci thinks he's going crazy and sees a psychiatrist, buts it's all just a movie, that's it. To pad out the running time further, Fulci has occasional flashbacks of gore shots that we've already seen. Some of the kills are awesome and they're totally wasted on this tedious mess. Really hard to sit through.
i read the tittle wrong, Cat in the Hat was what i was going to see. This one had a lot more gore. This was more fun then my 1st choice.
