Kaleb is about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over an inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend. Fascinated by exotic animals, he finds a venomous spider in a shop and brings it back to his apartment. It only takes a moment for the spider to escape and reproduce, turning the whole building into a dreadful web trap. The only option for Kaleb and his friends is to find a way out and survive.

This director is going to make the next Evil Dead. Thats not promising when he messes up this idiot proof premise. Great first act. Great set up. Great mood setting. Then completely breaks down when focusing on the obnoxious irredeemably annoying lead characters. I hope the characters in his Evil Dead are all deaf so they have to sign instead of talking over each other.

Meh. The pros of this movie are the underlying class narrative, the characters have so much potential, especially in their relationship history and dynamics. It falls apart for me with the uneven emotional responses to the deaths of loved ones by the spiders - also the spiders are SOOOOO unbelievable. There is no internal logic in regards to how these spiders are developing or behaving. They could have really leaned in on the fact that the main character knows a lot about insects but they missed the hell out of that opportunity. Fun watch but kind of a throw away.
I hate spiders so much, movie was pretty good but wasn't really scary. The spiders made me feel itchy and icky and storyline was good as well as the acting, just feel like it missed the gore factor/ scariness. Not rly any jump scares just an enjoyable watch.
Good insect/creature movie. Holy hell though is this movie full of unlikeable characters.
